The long-term financial aspects of owning a property
Abstract
Home economics instructors possess the capacity to significantly influence the education of preteens and adolescents in relation to sustainable development (SD). This can be achieved by incorporating sustainable practices into the management of daily household affairs and by highlighting the importance of sustainable well-being at both an individual and global level. The extent to which educators are capable of effectively fulfilling this role remains questionable. The aim of this study was to comprehend the viewpoints of Finnish higher education instructors regarding their strategies for dealing with challenges, methods of instruction, and future intentions in relation to teaching sustainable development. Additional investigation was conducted to determine the factors that either facilitated or hindered the successful accomplishment of this assignment. The study findings indicate that instructors in higher education, despite their personal propensity towards sustainability, often encounter difficulties in incorporating sustainable practices into their class plans due to a lack of financial incentives and resources. This is true despite the educators' stated preference for sustainability. The primary topic of today's discussion will be the implementation of initiatives to include sustainable development principles and encourage extracurricular activities inside higher education institutions.
Keywords: sustainable development, higher education institutions, incorporating sustainable practices.
